After The Effortless Beauty Package: 48‑Hour Do's & Don'ts

You just spent 130 minutes getting your lashes lifted and tinted, plus your brows laminated and tinted. Now protect it. Our number one rule for the first 24 to 48 hours is simple: keep heat, heavy sweat, hot water, direct sun, and oils away from your lashes and brows. In Del Mar, that coastal sun counts even on marine-layer mornings.
The first 48 hours: the exact do’s and don’ts for lashes + brow lamination
Think of the first two days as “set time.” The lift and lamination look their best when you give them a calm, clean start.
Do this: keep your lashes and brows dry, cool, and oil-free for 24 to 48 hours.
Avoid heat + steam (yes, even the “quick” stuff)
- Skip hot yoga, saunas, steam rooms, and hot baths for 48 hours.
- Keep shower water lukewarm and let it hit your body first, not your face.
- Hold off on face steamer devices and “steam to clear sinuses” moments.
Avoid sweat and friction
- No heavy workouts for 24 to 48 hours. Sweat and heat both shorten wear and can shift hair direction.
- No rubbing your eyes, no aggressive towel-drying, and skip tight goggles for surf or lap swim for 48 hours.
- If you’re golfing, hiking Torrey Pines, or heading out for a sunny Del Mar afternoon, keep it shaded with a hat and sunglasses.
Avoid oils around the treated areas
Oils are one of the quickest ways to fade tint and relax the shape.
- Skip oil-based cleansers and balm makeup removers near lashes and brows for 48 hours.
- Avoid heavy eye creams, face oils, and petroleum-based ointments in the brow and lash line area for 48 hours.
Days 3 to 7: keep the lift crisp and the brow shape clean
After the first 48 hours, you can get back to normal life. But if you want your results to last, the first week is where we see the biggest difference between “looks good” and “still looks good.”
Big one: skip exfoliating acids and retinoids for 5 to 7 days, especially around the brow area. They can speed up tint fading and irritate freshly treated skin.
Keep cleansing gentle
Use a gentle, non-oily cleanser and light pressure around the eyes and brows. Pat dry. If you wear base makeup, take it off carefully so you’re not dragging product through your brows.
Avoid picking, peeling, and “fixing” at home
Brows after lamination should look styled, not crunchy. If you notice a tiny flaky spot or a hair that isn’t sitting right, don’t pick or over-brush it aggressively. Let us know. We’d rather guide you than have you fight it in your mirror.
Sun protection matters more than you think in Del Mar
UV exposure can fade tint faster. If you’re in and out of Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, Carmel Valley, or commuting through Sorrento Valley, keep SPF in your routine and reapply if you’re outdoors for long stretches.
Product choices that keep tint longer and brows softer
You don’t need a complicated routine after The Effortless Beauty Package. You do need the right categories of products in the right places.
For the first 48 hours
- Gentle cleanser only, and keep it away from your lash line as much as you can.
- Lightweight, non-oily moisturizer on the rest of your face. Keep heavy creams off the brow area.
- Mineral or non-greasy SPF on exposed skin. Apply carefully around brows, then wash hands before touching lashes.
For days 3 to 7
- Keep skipping retinoids and exfoliating acids around brows for the full 5 to 7 days.
- Use a clean spoolie to gently brush brows into place once a day. If they start to feel dry, tell us what you’re using and we’ll point you toward a better option.
- If you’re wearing mascara, choose a formula that removes easily without oil-heavy removers. And keep it off the roots.
If something feels off, reach out to us right away
Mild redness right after a service usually settles quickly. What we do not want you to push through is prolonged redness, blistering, intense pain, or any reaction that surprises you. Message or call us and we’ll walk you through next steps.
Quick timing tip for Del Mar Heights and Via De La Valle commuters: if you’ve got a surf, hike, or racetrack weekend coming up, schedule your package so your 48-hour window lands on the quieter part of your week.
